Will winching damage my car?
Not when it is done right. We attach to the manufacturer's recovery points, not the bumper or suspension, and pull at a controlled angle and speed. The damage you see online usually comes from tow straps hooked to whatever was handy. After the pull we look over the underside, tires, and steering so you know the car is safe to drive home.
Should I keep trying to drive out of snow before calling?
A few gentle rocking attempts are fine, but spinning the tires hard digs the car deeper, glazes the snow into ice, and can overheat the transmission. If two or three easy attempts have not worked, stop, stay warm in the vehicle, and call. A 20-minute winch-out costs far less than a burned clutch or transmission repair.
